The Fix is a dedicated phone repair store conveniently located inside the Walmart Supercenter at 10001 Southpoint Pkwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. Many phone and tablet repairs are same-day, often taking less than 30 minutes.
Choosing The Fix here means your repair starts with a free diagnosis and finishes while you are shopping. Our technicians work on Apple, Samsung, Google and other brands, so a phone, a tablet and a laptop can all come to the same place.
That first test matters because a symptom does not always point to the right part. A screen that flickers might need a new panel, or it might have a loose connector inside, and those are very different repairs.
We handle screen, battery, charging port, camera, speaker, back glass and power problems on iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel models.
Start with screens. A cracked screen on an iPhone 17 can look like one thin line today and spread into shattered glass after the next drop. Once the glass breaks through, small shards can cut fingers and moisture can reach the panel underneath. Not every screen problem shows up as cracks, though. A Galaxy A16 can show unresponsive touch in one area, or ghost touch, where taps register that you never made. Both usually come down to a damaged digitizer, and a new screen assembly fixes them.
Battery problems show up in a few ways. An iPhone 14 with its battery draining fast by lunchtime, or a sudden shutdown when the percentage still shows charge left, is telling you the cell has worn down. A swollen battery is a different case. If the screen starts to bulge or the back panel separates, stop charging the phone and bring it in, because a swollen cell can push against the screen and the frame.
Charging port repair covers phones that only charge at one angle or not at all. On a Pixel 9, the fix is sometimes just clearing debris in the port, since pocket lint packs down every time a cable goes in. If cleaning does not restore a steady connection, we replace the port.
Cameras and speakers are smaller jobs that still change how you use the phone. A cracked camera lens on an iPhone 16 blurs every photo, even when the camera itself is fine. On an iPhone 13, a muffled speaker can turn calls into guesswork. On the Galaxy S25, a fall onto its back can crack the rear panel while the screen stays intact, and we replace that back glass on its own.
Then there are the phones that will not power on at all. We start by checking the battery, the charging circuit and the screen, because a phone that looks dead is sometimes running with a dark panel. Water damage gets its own process: we open the phone, clean corrosion off the internal parts and test which ones still work before recommending a repair.
Besides phones, we repair tablets, laptops, MacBooks and game consoles from PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo.
Tablet repair covers iPads and Android tablets. An iPad Air with a battery that no longer lasts through an afternoon can get a new cell, and an iPad mini with a loose charging port can get a new port.
Laptops bring a different set of problems. A MacBook Air with sticky or dead keys, or a battery that drops quickly away from the charger, is something we diagnose and repair. Windows laptops come to us with cracked screens, failing batteries and charging jacks that wiggle.
Game consoles round out the list. A PlayStation 5 with a damaged HDMI port shows no picture even when the console powers up, and replacing the port brings the signal back. An Xbox Series X that will not turn on gets checked for power supply and board faults. A Nintendo Switch with a cracked screen can get new glass so it works in handheld mode again.
We stock high-quality replacement parts for the models we repair, plus cases, screen protectors and charging accessories for daily use.
For some phones, there is more than one screen option, and the difference shows in brightness, color and price. We explain the choices that exist for your model so you can pick the one that fits how you use the phone. Batteries, charging ports, cameras and speakers are matched to the exact model, because a part made for a close relative of your phone may not fit or work the same.
The accessory side of the store covers protection and power. Rugged cases suit people who work with their hands or spend a lot of time outdoors. Slim cases keep a phone light in a pocket. Tempered glass screen protectors take the scratches and small impacts that would otherwise land on the screen. Charging cables and wall adapters are there too, which helps when a frayed cable turns out to be the real cause of slow charging.
A repair at The Fix follows four stages, and you know what happens at each one.
If the diagnosis turns up a second problem, such as a worn battery behind a broken screen, we tell you about it in Stage 2. You decide whether to fix one or both.
The Fix is inside the Walmart Supercenter at 10001 Southpoint Pkwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. The store sits in the Southpoint shopping area of Spotsylvania County, close to the Massaponax community, just off I-95 Exit 126 at US-1 and US-17.
From the Fredericksburg Area Campus of Germanna Community College, the store is a short drive west. Coming up from Cosner's Corner, you will find it just to the north along the same retail stretch. The Spotsylvania VRE station sits to the east, and the drive from there heads west toward the interchange.
Fredericksburg weather and commuting habits wear phones down in ways you can plan for.
Summers here are hot and humid. A phone left in a car on a July afternoon heats up fast, and heat speeds up battery aging. Humid air and summer thunderstorms add moisture, which can creep into ports and speaker grilles.
Winters bring freezing nights. Cold slows the chemistry inside a battery, so a cell that is already worn struggles harder in January than it did in October.
Then there is the commute. Plenty of residents drive I-95 north toward Northern Virginia and Washington, and others ride the train. Long drives with navigation running and a charger plugged in keep a phone warm for hours. Train riders who stream, text and work through the ride plug and unplug cables several times a day, and that is the kind of wear a charging port feels over months.
Simple habits help. Keep the phone out of a parked car in summer, and give it a case that covers the ports.
When you visit, expect friendly, patient technicians and a repair that is easy to follow.
We take the time to talk through the problem with you and send updates while the repair is underway, so you are not left wondering what is happening with your phone. Parents bring in tablets that kids have dropped more than once, and we keep the visit relaxed for them and for the kids. Prices are fair for the work involved.
If you want extra protection, we can apply a new screen protector to a freshly repaired screen before you leave. The goal is a device that works the way it did before the damage.
Here are answers to questions about repair costs, repair times and visiting our Southpoint store.
A Galaxy S25 screen repair is priced by the screen assembly your exact S25 model needs. The S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra each use a different panel, and the price follows the part your phone takes.
Many Galaxy battery repairs are same-day, often taking less than 30 minutes. The time depends on the model, since some Galaxy phones need the back panel removed and resealed to reach the battery.
Back glass pricing on an iPhone depends on the model and on how the glass is attached. On some iPhones the back glass comes off as its own part, and on others the repair involves the rear housing, which changes the cost.
iPad screen repair time depends on how the glass and the display are built. On some iPad models the glass is fused to the display, so both are replaced as one piece, while others have separate glass that needs fresh adhesive to set.
What you pay for a MacBook screen repair depends on the model and year, because each one uses a specific screen assembly. Damage to the lid or the hinge can also be part of the repair.
An Xbox HDMI port repair takes as long as the damage around the port requires. A bent or loose port is a cleaner job than one that has pulled traces off the board, and the diagnosis shows which one you have.
Two things set the price of a Pixel speaker repair: which Pixel model you have and which speaker failed. The bottom loudspeaker and the earpiece speaker are separate parts, and a speaker that sounds muffled sometimes only needs its grille cleaned.
Your Pixel model and the condition of its frame decide how long a screen repair takes. A straight frame takes a new screen cleanly, while a bent one needs more work before the screen can seat properly.
Switch charging port pricing depends on which Switch you own, since the first Switch, the Lite, the OLED and the Switch 2 are built differently. If a faulty charger damaged the charging chip as well, that part adds to the repair.
A Galaxy Tab charging port repair takes longer when the port is soldered to the main board than when it sits on its own small board. Which design your tablet uses depends on the model.
You can walk in without an appointment when you stop by on your way home from the station. Tell us your phone model and what happened, and we start with the diagnosis.
Your photos, messages and files stay on the phone, because screen, battery and port repairs replace parts without touching storage. If a test needs the phone unlocked, we ask first, and you can choose to unlock it yourself at pickup.
