The Fix is a dedicated repair store inside Walmart at 5655 East Sam Houston Pkwy N, Houston, TX 77015, conveniently located for phone repair on the east side of the city. We repair iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones, and the same technicians work on tablets, computers and game consoles. Many phone and tablet repairs are same-day, often taking less than 30 minutes.
This page covers the repairs we handle, the parts and accessories we carry, how a repair moves from start to finish, and how to find the store.
We match the repair to the actual fault and talk you through it before anything is opened. You hear which part failed, why it likely failed, and whether more than one fix makes sense. If a device is older and you are unsure whether it is worth repairing, you get a straight answer on that as well.
One store covers the whole household. A phone, a child's tablet, a laptop for school and a console from the living room can all come to the same place. That keeps things simple for families handling repairs for multiple household devices in one stop.
The technicians work across brands and generations, from a Galaxy A-series phone a few years old to a Pixel bought this year. That range means a mixed set of devices gets one visit, one explanation and one place to come back to for accessories.
We handle screen, battery, charging, camera, speaker and glass repairs on current and older phones. Screens are the obvious starting point. An iPhone 17 that hits the parking lot can come back with a cracked screen in one corner or shattered glass across the whole face. We replace the screen assembly and reconnect Face ID and the front camera to the new panel.
Touch faults are a separate story. A Galaxy S25 Ultra can show unresponsive touch along one edge, or ghost touch, where the screen taps and scrolls by itself. Sometimes the cause is a damaged screen. Sometimes it is a connector or a cheap protector pressing on the glass. The diagnosis tells us which one.
Batteries wear out with charge cycles. An iPhone 15 with a battery draining fast by lunch, or one that hits a sudden shutdown at 30 percent, usually needs a new cell. Battery health in Settings gives a clue, and our test confirms it.
Charging problems get the same careful look. A Galaxy A16 that charges only when the cable is held at an angle may need charging port repair, a new port assembly or simply a new cable.
Sound problems are worth a look too. A muffled speaker on a Pixel 9 can come from a worn speaker module or residue left behind after the phone got wet. Calls, speakerphone and media audio each use different parts, so we narrow it down first.
The back of the phone matters as well. On an iPhone 16 Pro Max, cracked back glass can also chip the camera lens cover, and that cover sits right over the lenses. We replace the back glass and the lens cover so photos come out sharp again.
Yes, and the work goes well beyond phones. An iPad Air with a cracked screen gets a new glass and digitizer, and an iPad (10th generation) whose charging port has worn loose gets a port repair. Samsung Galaxy Tab models get the same screen and battery work.
Computers are part of the job too. A MacBook Air can come in with a keyboard that skips letters, a battery that no longer holds a charge, or a hinge that has loosened. Windows laptops from HP, Dell, Lenovo and Acer get screen, battery, keyboard and charging jack repairs.
Game consoles round it out. A PlayStation 5 with an HDMI port that no longer sends a picture, an Xbox Series X that overheats and shuts off, or a Nintendo Switch with drifting Joy-Con sticks or a cracked screen can all come to us.
We use high-quality parts matched to the exact model, and the shelves carry the accessories that keep a repaired phone in one piece. Screens, batteries, charging ports and back glass are fitted to the specific model, not a near match. Where a screen has more than one option, the difference comes down to brightness, color and touch feel.
On the accessory side, you will find protective cases for iPhone, Galaxy and Pixel models, tempered glass screen protectors, camera lens protectors, charging cables, wall adapters and car chargers. Tablet cases and covers are on hand too, including sturdy cases built for kids.
We can install a screen protector or camera lens protector for you. The glass gets cleaned, dust gets lifted off, and the protector goes on lined up with the edges, without bubbles. A fresh case and protector right after a repair is a sensible way to protect the new part.
A repair follows four stages, and you stay in control of each one.
If the diagnosis turns up a second issue, such as a weak battery found during a screen repair, we tell you and you decide whether to add it.
The Fix is inside the Walmart Supercenter at 5655 East Sam Houston Pkwy N, Houston, TX 77015. The store sits on the Beltway 8 frontage road at Wallisville Rd.
Coming on I-10 East Freeway, take Exit 781A for Beltway 8 and head north on the frontage road to the store. San Jacinto College North Campus is about a mile west, along Uvalde Rd. Neighborhoods across North Shore and Woodforest sit to the west and south of the store, and Channelview is a short drive east.
Heat and humidity are hard on phones here. A phone left on a car seat in an East Houston summer gets far hotter than the air outside. Heat speeds up battery wear, and over time it can lead to a swollen battery that pushes the screen up or the back glass out. If your phone starts to bulge, stop charging it and bring it in.
Moisture is the other half. Gulf humidity, sudden summer downpours and storm season mean phones get wet more often than people expect. Water damage does not always show up right away. Corrosion can build on the charging contacts and the board over a few days, which is why a wet phone should be powered off and checked soon.
Keeping the phone out of direct sun and off the dashboard helps more than any gadget. So does unplugging it once it is full on a hot day.
You can expect a friendly greeting, quick work and a team that takes its time with your questions. The visit starts with what happened to the device, and the conversation stays in everyday language rather than part numbers.
The store keeps a clean, well-stocked layout, so it is easy to see the case and protector options side by side. If you came in for a case, you get help picking one that suits the model and the way you carry the phone.
Repairs feel unhurried even when they move fast. You leave with a clear explanation of the completed work and a few practical tips on keeping your device protected.
The time to replace an iPhone screen depends mostly on the model and on what else the drop affected. An iPhone 13 with a clean break and a straight frame moves quickly. A bent frame, a damaged Face ID connection or a screen that needs extra adhesive work adds time, and the diagnosis tells us which case you are in.
Galaxy screen pricing comes down to the model and the screen type. A Galaxy A-series phone uses a simpler panel than an S-series phone, and curved or high-refresh screens cost more to replace. Frame damage and the part option you choose also shape the final figure.
Charging port costs at The Fix depend on whether the port needs replacing or just cleaning. Debris in the port, like lint packed in from a pocket, can stop a phone from charging, and removing it is a small job. A port with bent or burned pins needs a new assembly, and on some models the port is part of a larger board, which raises the cost.
An iPad screen repair takes longer than a phone screen because the glass is bonded with strong adhesive. On an iPad mini, the glass and the screen underneath come as one unit, while some other iPad models separate the glass from the LCD. That difference, plus how far the cracks have spread, sets the timing.
The cost of iPhone back glass repair depends on the model and on how much of the rear is broken. A cracked rear panel on its own is a different job from one where the frame is bent or the wireless charging coil is damaged. Newer models with larger camera bumps also take more work.
A battery swap is one of the quicker phone repairs, and the timing depends on the model and the adhesive. iPhones use pull-tab adhesive that comes away cleanly, while many Galaxy phones need the back glass removed first. A battery that has already started to swell needs slower, careful handling.
Water damage repair costs depend on what the liquid reached and how long it sat. A phone that only needs cleaning and drying costs far less than one with a corroded part or a failed screen. Salt water and sugary drinks do more harm than tap water. The diagnosis shows which parts still work and which need replacing.
MacBook screen costs come down to the model year and the size of the screen. A 13-inch MacBook Air and a 16-inch MacBook Pro use very different panels. On many models the screen is sold as a full lid assembly, which raises the part cost compared with older laptops.
You can walk in to The Fix without booking ahead. If the problem is charging related, bring the cable and adapter you use at home so we can rule them out.
Most screen, battery and port repairs do not touch your data at all, because the storage stays inside the phone. If a function test needs the phone unlocked, we explain why, and you can unlock it yourself at the store. A recent iCloud or Google backup is a good idea before any repair.
The time to fix a Pixel that will not power on depends on the cause the diagnosis finds. A Pixel 8a with a dead battery or a failed charging port is a quicker job than one with a damaged power button flex or a liquid problem. We confirm the cause first, then give you a time frame.
Phone camera repair costs depend on whether the lens cover or the camera module itself is damaged. A Galaxy S24 with a scratched cover over the rear lenses needs a small part, while blurry focus, a black image or a rattling lens points to the module. Phones with several rear cameras cost more when the damaged module is the main or zoom lens.
